Involved in societal and economic issues, the CNEP supports Companies and Research Organizations to better understand the phenomena of photochemical, thermal or other aging.
The CNEP also offers you the opportunity to characterize the evolution of plastic materials during accelerated aging.
Thanks to its know-how, its analysis and control devices and its experience in polymer chemistry, CNEP can respond to varied requests for characterizations and analyzes.
Durability of polymeric materials formulated under light or thermal stress. Photochemical, thermal, hydrolytic aging. Accelerated and natural aging. Service life prediction in indoor or outdoor use
Chemical analyzes of formulations Anti-UV and anti-oxidant additive level measurements, pigment levels, fillers, etc. Determination of thicknesses and compositions of multilayer films, of finished film packaging Evaluation of bonding, crosslinking of paints
Determination of oxidation degrees at the surface and at the core of the material by measuring the chemical evolution profile Visual or chemical detection of damage allowing the understanding of the phenomena and support for the resolution of detected problems
Lecturer and scientific expert with insurance companies, courts for any request for chemical damage expertise
On the strength of its Studies and Research, the CNEP, in partnership with the Laboratories, provides Knowledge Sharing days for members of Companies interested in the Durability of Polymer-based Materials.
Thanks to its numerous achievements and studies, the CNEP is able to make a decisive contribution in the creation of Standards for formulated Polymer Materials and their uses.
500 studies and research actions per year
Respect for commitments and confidentialit
Always mindful of the quality of our analyzes and the reliability of our scientific data, the CNEP has numerous accreditations or certifications recognized worldwide.
ISO 9001 standard is the standard of quality management. It provides guarantees in terms of organizational quality within any type of structure. The ISO 9001 certification is to prove that a system of continuous improvement has been put in place within our company.
The philosophy of this standard lies in taking into account:
The context of the organization, our products / services
Of our risks and opportunities,
The performance of our system,
Monitoring and improving the satisfaction of our customers and stakeholders
Through this certification, the CNEP anticipates and reduces potential internal malfunctions. It measures the effectiveness of these services in deciding the performance of our organization. This allows us to put in place a logic of continuous improvement. This recognition also allows us to become competitive in international markets.
The Technological Resource Center (CRT) carries out a mission of general interest as well as the Cell of Technological Diffusion (CDT), directly assisting the companies and more particularly the SMEs, in the definition of their needs, by participating in the development of their activities through innovation and technology, and by building on networks of skills.
This assistance is adapted to each company, it is part of a global approach and takes into account the disciplines that accompany the technological development: transfer, marketing, project management, corporate strategy, regulation, monitoring …
But the essential mission of the CRT is the execution of technological services. It has its own technological and analytical means and offers a range of catalog and customized services, which are the subject of quotations and billing to companies.
There are currently 68 structures labeled CRT.
Exposure of flat areas of the parts in the ultra-accelerated conditions of the SEPAP MHE device, in “High Energy” mode (300 W/m2 between 290 and 420 nm, BST= 80 °C) for a duration of 1000 hours,
The samples will be immersed every 50 h for 2 hours in demineralized water at 60 °C
Analyses of the oxidation by FTIR spectrometry in photoacoustic and Diamond ATR mode upon ageing
Modification of the colour studied by UV-Visible spectrophotometry with determination of the CIE L*a*b* colorimetric parameters.
Gloss measurements upon ageing.
The results will be interpreted according to the requirements of the Renault D15 3200-A test method.
Allizé-Plasturgie is a professional union serving actors in the plastics and composites sector. In close proximity to companies on a daily basis, Allizé-Plasturgie and its 5 regional organizations act and mobilize their expertise and their networks to feed the strategic and operational thoughts of the member companies.
Led by a management committee made up of business leaders from industrial companies in the plastics industry, Allizé-Plasturgie is constantly adapting to new challenges in the plastics and composites sector.
Since 1972, the Laboratory of Molecular and Macromolecular Photochemistry (UMR CNRS 6505) of the Blaise Pascal University (ex UCA) and of the National School of Chemistry of Clermont-Ferrand (ex SIGMA) has been studying the mechanisms of photochemical aging that control the long-term behavior of polymer materials in outdoor use
The numerous industrial upgrades induced by a better knowledge of the aging mechanisms of polymer materials made it necessary to set up in 1986 the CNEP (National Center for the Assessment of Photoprotection) to examine the original problems associated with long-term quality control of polymer materials in customary formulation
THE CNEP continues its development by expanding its building to reach a surface area of 1500m²
Arrival of the "characterization" team within the CNEP
The Technological Resource Center (CRT) carries out a mission of general interest just like the Technological Diffusion Unit (CDT), by directly assisting companies and more particularly SMEs, in defining their needs, by participating in the development of their activities through innovation and technology, and building on skills networks.
The CNEP sets up its sales management and customer monitoring software (ERP / CRM), constantly updated software
The ISO 9001 standard is the standard for quality management. It provides guarantees in terms of organizational quality within any type of structure. ISO 9001 certification consists of providing proof that a continuous improvement system has been implemented within our company.
After an exchange between the project manager and a CNEP manager, a study is proposed taking into account the expectations of the project and the samples available for the study. After agreement, a quote and a time limit for completing the study are proposed
The samples received at the CNEP are referenced in our Quality system and then shaped by us in order to meet the expectations of the project and the requirements of our accelerated aging equipment.
In the specific case of a durability study, the chemical and color changes during exposure in a SEPAP accelerated photo-aging chamber are monitored by IRTF under different adapted modes and by UV-Visible in order to have a global view of the mechanisms involved
At the end of the planned duration of exposure, a report bringing together all the analyzes and changes in the materials as well as a report allowing an estimate of the lifespan of the various materials is sent to the project manager who can ask advice from the researcher who wrote the report
The CNEP will be in very reduced activity from August 10 to 15, 2020, contact us preferably after this period.
